Have you ever been embarrassed in front of a group of people? Like fall down, or (as a female) you visited the ladies' room and came out with a part of clothing (skirt), tucked in the back of your undergarment. You are unaware, because you don't feel the draft back there. So you go about your business and all of a sudden you feel a tap on your shoulder and someone whispers ever so quietly, "Your skirt is tucked in your underwear." ... What an embarrassing moment that would be.

I can relate to quite a few embarrassing moments myself. Most recently, I had one at a waterpark. I cannot swim. Allow me to put that out there first. So I get on a very large water slide to conquer my fear of water. All was going well until I got on inner tube and begin sliding through the tunnel. The tube was striking the walls hard and fast. There was no way of slowing down. I was no longer centered in the tube as I was from the onset. I could feel my emotions mounting, as well as my fear because I knew that before long I would see a light. And at the end of that light was a plunge into water.

I was not ready. Out of the tunnel I came flying and then Swish Swoosh Plop! Into the water I went! I was under and then up, then back under and up again flailing my arms wildly. I saw the life guards sitting there motionless. Then I realize I was in maybe 3 feet of water at the least, and all I had to do was STAND UP! So that is exactly what I did. I was so embarrassed because I am 5 feet tall. ... Finally one of the life guards asked, "Are You Okay?" I wanted to run and hide, but I answered "Yes."

Here's what I learned from that incident: (1) If you cannot swim, you can drown in water even if its feet is lesser than your natural height. (2) Fear, if it's not faced, can kill you. (3) Sometimes, all you have to do is just STAND UP. No one wants to go under. We all want to stay afloat and above ground, especially in life. Usually when one hears the phrase 'underwater', what comes to mind is being overwhelmed, in debt, biting off more then one can chew, under pressure, or drowning.

Even experienced swimmers sometimes drown underwater if the current is too swift. But in another viewpoint, being underwater in life's struggles won't be so bad and life threatening if one can learn how to STAND UP and DANCE. Even a ballerina knows the importance of dancing. Someone said, "When you feel sad, DANCE." There are all types of dance: tap dance, ballet dance, swing dance, rain dance, battle dance and yes, victory dance, just to name a few.

Remember there is light at the end of the tunnel. So the next time you feel as though you are underwater in LIFE issues and woes, find yourself some under water vibrations, STAND UP and have yourself a V-I-C-T-O-R-Y DANCE!
