“Stupid is as Stupid does.” This catch-all phrase has been around since the 1800s, but most people remember it from the 1994 Tom Hanks movie Forrest Gump. What does the phrase really mean? Arguably it has many meanings. Some would argue it means stupid people only do stupid things. Another may argue smart intelligent people could do something stupid and it confirms who or what they really are--plain stupid.
